Are you looking for a group to play Dungeons & Dragons with, but you’re too old to be a part of our popular teen sessions? Well come to your Mockingbird Branch Library and join us for a couple Saturdays of fun. Our activity room will be booked from 1PM to 5PM for anyone wanting to come and play this role playing game. The library will provide three main manuals, dice, and character sheets, and dungeon master. If you’re ready for an adventure, join us!
With ears open and tails wagging, join us to read to the friendliest and fluffiest listeners of the Abilene Therapy Dogs. Therapy dogs are patient and polite listeners, so they are perfect for struggling readers. Come in and sign up for a time to read to one of these great animals. We'll have some books selected, but feel free to bring your own favs. Call 325-698-7565 for more info.
Join us for an afternoon of gaming fun! Designed for both new and experienced players, gamers from their tweens to adults are welcome to be a part of this weekly meetup where we gather to play the Pokemon Card Game. Pokemon has something for everyone, so come out, bring your cards, and be ready to battle it out at your library. Instruction will also be available for those interested in learning how to play, and once you do, you’ll be challenging everyone else in no time.
Children learn while they play! One of the latest trends in libraries is to provide a time of sensory play for young children. Exposing children to sensory play helps them develop and refine the use of their senses. Stimulating these senses helps children develop cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, physical, and creative skills. Join us each week Monday Morning at Mockingbird Branch for Play & Learn.
For toddlers who are ready for longer stories. Parents are encouraged to share this time with their children. There will be lots of music and movement to keep toddlers engaged and moving.
Are you looking for a place to host a Dungeons & Dragon game? Looking for other teens to play with? Come over to the Mockingbird Branch Library where, every Monday evening, our activity room will be booked for any teen to come out and play. The library will provide the three main manuals, dice, and character sheets...so if you’re a Dungeon Master, or an adventurer, feel free to join us!
Join us the first Wednesday of the month as we gather to work on our Community Amigurumi Ocean! Each month we will meet and share patterns and work on adding more ocean creatures to our Crocheted Ocean. This program is for any crocheters that are interested in learning how to make Amigurumi or would enjoy getting together with like minded crafters to work on a community display project. For more information contact Heather Carter at 325-676-6025.
We will have some yarn on hand, but feel free to bring your own yarn and crochet hooks!
